Description

Fritware painted in black and blue under a clear glaze

Fritware, probably moulded, painted in black and blue under a clear glaze.

Around the interior edge of the roundel semi-ovals are outlined in black and coloured blue; the remaining central area contains a black lotus flower with blue core surrounded by black trefoil leaves painted against a dashed black ground. The beginning of a pattern that radiates from this roundel is visible around the break.
