Description

White salt-glazed stoneware, in the form of a globular double bowl with double walls, the outer wall pierced with interlaced circles, standing on a high fluted foot. From the shoulders spring four slightly scrolled handles meeting over the middle, and surmounted by a stem of flowers

Note

This is a very rare example of a double sided and pierced object in white salt-glazed stoneware. Its function is uncertain. It might have been used as a vase for a small posy of flowers, or possibly for container for salt at table
