White salt glazed stoneware cream/milk jug, decorated in scratch-blue with flowers
Off-white stoneware, thrown, with applied handle, decorated in scratch blue before salt-glazing. Small, with a pear shaped body with a projecting lip and wavy rim standing on a flat base. The loop handle has a ridge down the middle. The front is decorated with a stylized plant with foliage and buds on the left and a large flower on the right.
History note: Bought from Mr Wordingham of Cambridge, for £6.10s. on 12 February 1921 by Dr J.W.L. Glaisher, FRS, Trinity College, Cambridge
