Fritware painted in blue, green and black under a white glaze
Fritware, probably mould made, painted in blue, black and green under a white glaze
Shape: round base fragment incorporating foot ring
Interior: on the base a pair of entwined buds, possibly pomegranates, are painted amongst leafy vegetation
Exterior: a wavy blue line is painted on the foot ring; the underside bears the painter’s mark ‘Ghaibi’. Coated in glaze, except on the rim of the foot ring.
History note: Henry Scipio Reitlinger (d. 1950); Reitlinger Trust, Maidenhead Possibly from excavations at Fustat.
