Fritware, painted in dark blue under a turquoise glaze
Fritware, wheel thrown, painted in dark blue under a transparent turquoise glaze
Shape: inverted pear-shaped body with cylindrical neck and everted rim, sits on a foot ring base
Exterior: on the rim a repeating pattern of three dotted circles in ‘pseduo-Kufic’ style, while on the neck a frieze of diagonal, elongated ‘s’ shapes is painted. On the body a wide band of palmette leaves is framed above and below by a band of vertical zigzags and horiziontal lines. Glaze terminates unevenly on the lower body or base.
Interior: undecorated except for a coating of glaze.
