Production: Unidentified Staffordshire Pottery
Drab and white salt-glazed stoneware decorated with white and blue-stained reliefs of a wavy vine stem
Drab-coloured and white stoneware, with applied moulded handle, spout, feet, and knob, decorated with white and blue stained moulded and applied reliefs, and salt-glaze. The pot has a depressed globular drab-coloured body with applied white crabstock handle and spout, supported on three white shell and paw feet. The circular, almost flat cover has a crabstock handle. Each side of the body is decorated with an applied white vine stem with white leaves and blue bunches of grapes which springs from the handle and meanders horizontally towards the spout. The cover is decorated with two small blue reliefs.
