Satyr's Head Wall Pocket
Production: Unidentified Staffordshire Pottery
White stoneware, press-moulded, and salt-glazed. The wall pocket is roughly conical with waisted sides and a wavy top edge. The lower part of the front has a bearded satyr's head in relief with above, a central dolphin's head, flanked by bands of scrolls. The flat back is lower than the front at the top, and has three suspension holes arranged two over one.
