Description

Fritware painted in blue under a white glaze

Fritware, probably mould made, painted in blue under a white glaze
Shape: round base fragment incorporating foot ring
Interior: on the base a phoenix-type bird with a long neck and tail-feathers is painted amongst leafy vegetation
Exterior: two concentric blue lines are painted on the foot ring; the underside bears the painter’s mark ‘Ghaibi’. Coated in glaze, except on the rim of the foot ring.
