Description

Fritware, wheel thrown, painted in blue, black and dark red under a colourless glaze
Shape: inverted pear shape with flaring neck, sits on a low foot ring
Exterior: rim is painted with a blue band over a pseudo-calligraphic band on the neck. On the shoulder and lower body identical friezes of inverted, paired petals are outlined in black on a background of dotted triangles painted in black, red and blue. Glaze runs over the surface and pools on the foot ring.
Interior: blue from the rim runs onto the neck, glazed.
