Description

Earthenware coated in a white slip painted in black and green under a clear glaze

Pinkish earthenware, probably wheel thrown, coated in a white slip painted in black and green under a clear glaze.
Shape: straight sides with a plain rim, on a flat base
Interior: the rim is painted with black dashes. On the body, feint green lines radiate towards the rim. On the base, a black circle with a line crossed through.
Exterior: roughly drawn stylised palmette motifs, separated by vertical green lines, are painted in a horizontal frieze. Glaze and slip extend over the body but do not cover the base.
