Description

Earthenware decorated with slip

Red-brown earthenware, the upper part covered with cream slip and decorated in blue, two shades of green, orange, pink, and black slips, and powdered blue under clear glaze. The conical egg cup is supported by a cylindrical stem with a ring at the top, and two steps at the bottom which is attached to a curved, fish-shaped dish with a circular base. The exterior of the cup and stem are mottled in blue with dark green bands round the rim and ring. The dish is decorated to resemble a fish
