Description

Fritware coated in three glaze colours painted with lustre

Fritware, wheel thrown, coated in blue, turquoise and white glaze, painted with lustre
Shape: conical bowl on a foot ring
Interior: radiating panels of four blue, two turquoise and two white glazed triangles. The blue and white panels are painted with lustre; in the form of scrolls that are barely visible on the blue background, possibly due to an accident of firing, and seated figures reserved on triangular lustre panels that are fully visible on the white background.
Exterior: a lustre band is painted on the rim. The body is coated in a blue glaze which is thicker around the rim and upper body and which terminates on the foot ring.
