Dark red earthenware with applied moulded reliefs, black lead-glaze, and oil gilding
Dark red earthenware, the body thrown, with applied moulded handle, spout, feet, and finial, and applied moulded sprigs, the whole covered with black lead-glaze, and partly gilded. The pot has a depressed globular body supported on three lion's mask and paw feet, a crabstock handle and spout, and a domed cover with a bird finial. Both sides of the body are decorated with a coiling vine-stem with bunches of grapes and foliage in relief, which have been oil gilded.
