Frtiware coated in grey slip painted with white slip, black and blue pigment under a clear glaze
Fritware, wheel thrown, coated in a grey slip decorated with cream slip outlined in black and dotted with blue under a clear, greenish glaze.
Shape: hemispherical bowl with a plain rim sitting on a low, wide foot ring.
Interior: decoration is painted in white slip and outlined or detailed in black with occasional blue spots. On the body, a panel frieze comprising alternately lobed arches containing a lotus flower, or lozenges in which downward pointing arrows are painted in reserve against a white slip background. On the base a calligraphic band frames a central lotus flower similar in design to those on the body.
Exterior: on the body two friezes, a calligraphic band and a petal pattern are painted in white slip outlined in black. The lower petal frieze is enclosed above and below by bands painted in black, one containing chevrons and the other circles with a central dot. Each of these friezes and bands are delineated by concentric lines of white slip. The glaze runs unevenly over the lower body and in places onto the foot ring.
