Production: Unknown
A large, heavily potted saucer dish with deep rounded sides and straight rim, and a thick, low slanting foot ring. It is painted in turquoise blue and iron-red enamels combined with outlines in black, on a thick, opaque, greyish white glaze.
The central medallion is decorated with an abstract landscape arranged in three horizontal planes. The top has a row of high peaked mountains, the centre has a waterway with a boat and a three tiered pagoda, split vertically in two halves by a narrow channel, which, at the bottom, expands into an oval containing three small gateways. These are all painted in fine black outline filled with broad brushstrokes of blue enamel, and all are enclosed within a circle of double red lines.
The cavetto is decorated with four roundels enclosing the outlines of miniature landscapes, edged by narrow bands of short, radiating flames, and painted in black outline and turquoise blue enamel. These roundels alternate with irregular square seals with indecipherable characters painted in broad brushstrokes of iron-red.
