Fritware painted in blue, carved and pierced under a white glaze
Fritware, wheel thrown, painted in blue, carved and pierced under a transparent, cracked white glaze.
Shape: carinated bowl with a plain rim, sits on a flaring foot ring
Interior: the rim is painted blue and on the neck three concentric rows of piercing forms part of the open work pattern. An irregular blue spot of glaze is visible on the base.
Exterior: blue paint continues on the rim. On the neck a cable pattern is carved and pierced forming an open work design. Glaze covers the surface except for the rim of the foot ring.
