Description

Fritware painted in blue under a white glaze

Fritware, wheel thrown, painted in blue under a transparent white glaze.
Shape: straight neck on an inverted pear shaped body, sits on a narrow, flaring foot ring. A strap handle with small thumb rest is attached just below the rim and on the upper body.
Exterior: rim is painted blue. On the body groups of three vertical blue stripes are painted at regular intervals. Glaze runs unevenly over the lower body and in places onto the foot ring.
Interior: blue from the rim continues on the interior. Glaze covers the neck only.
