Bust of Napoleon (or Crown Prince Ludwig of Bavaria)


Factory: Unidentified French factory




White earthenware bust on a socle, moulded, and lead-glazed. The sitter faces front. He has short hair, and wears a neck cloth, a coat with a high collar, and a drape around his shoulders.


History note: Sir Henry Irving; sold Christie's, London, 14 December 1905, Catalogue of the theatrical relics; costumes, bronzes, silver, furniture and decorative objects the property of Sir Henry Irving, Ltt.
