Description

Dark red earthenware jug, unglazed. Flat base, body tapering upwards to the wide flaring mouth, which has a horizontal ridge below it. Loop handle.

History note: Found while excavating for the Tower Bridge, London. Acquired from Mr Hugh Sadler, 14 Fulburn Sq, London, N.W. on June 25th, 1910, for £5 by Dr J.W.L. Glaisher, FRS, Trinity College, Cambridge
