Description

Mahogany jewel chest with brass locks and mounts, the top inlaid in brass with the coronet and cypher of the Dukes of Cambridge. Inside, ten fitted jewel trays lined with purple velvet, each with a numbered ivory marker; leather outer case (A).

History note: Phillips, 19 June 1984, lot 99; Malcolm Carr, 94 Gloucester Terrace, London, W.2., from whom Mrs. Hull Grundy bought it.
