Description

Spherical kendi (drinking vessel). Spout handle missing, and opening now trimmed in metal. Drinking spout modelled and incised with the stylised features of a frog head, with bulging eyes and curlicue nostrils. Mouth serves as an opening. Other applied strips denote legs and add decorative interest to vessel.
Eroded glaze, which stops short of the base. Originally dark brown with a greenish caste.
Slight foot ring and base unglazed. Pinkish biscuit.
