Stoneware bowl, Northern celadon, Yao-chou type. The grey body has a greyish green crackled and marked glaze with small bubbles. On the outside in an incised line running around 1 cm below the lip, above which the wall of the bowl bulges slightly. On the inside, below a plain border of 3 cm is a design of leaf scrolls, two large peonies and a star-shaped flower, slightly misshapen.
The foot is small and straight, with an unglazed rim and inside. The convex base is unglazed and marked with dark-grey and light orange patches.
