Description

Shallow steatite (soapstone) bowl covered with a cream coloured glaze, with a broad crackle. The rim is painted in imitation of a bronze ring. Engraved under the glaze is is a narrow band of floral scroll near the rim. There is also a broader band of peonies and in the bottom a double fish emblem and waves.

History note: Note states that the bowl was bought from the Sherwan sale, November 2nd 1925
