Part of a cover. Pale buff earthenware, tin-glazed on both sides. Painted in blue, green, yellow, and brownish-orange.
Approximately triangular section from the centre to the outer edge of the rim, with part of the flange on the underside. The upper surface is slightly domed and has two shallow steps.
The centre is blue, surrounded by a wide white border decorated with putti in landscape. One putto holds a bird, and part of another putto is visible on the left. The glaze has crazed.
History note: Probably excavated near the Duomo in Orvieto where purchased by the donor.
