Description

Buff earthenware, tin-glazed on both sides. Painted in yellow, orange and a very little green.
Irregularly-shaped fragment with part of footring and concave base.
Part of a shield of arms, charged gules (orange) two swords crossed in saltire points in chief with a rosette above, and above that part of a wavy band. Glaze crazed.

History note: Probably found near the Duomo in Orvieto, where purchased by R.C. Bosanquet
