Description

Fragment of a dish (crespina). Cream earthenware, tin-glazed on both sides. Painted in blue, green, yellow and orange.
Approximately square fragment with a curve on one edge, and a vertical depression on the front.
On the front (inside), part of an a quartieri design of foliage on a green ground and on an orange ground. On the reverse, a blue stripe flanked by yellow stripes, each with six short orange transverse stripes.

Notes

History note: Probably found near the Duomo in Orvieto, where purchased by the donor.
