Fragment of a jug (?). Buff earthenware, tin-glazed on both sides. Painted in blue, green, yellow, orange, and manganese-purple. Convex, rounded oblong shape, wider at the right end.
Part of the upper part of a frontal medallion framed by three concentric orange circles, containing the head of the Virgin wearing a blue veil, against a yellow background. Outside the frame, on the right, there is an area of green ground with part of a yellow and manganese scroll or foliage.
History note: Probably found near the Duomo in Orvieto, where purchased by the donor probably in July 1904
