: Hollstein dates this print to approx. 1657, but the Fitzwilliam has an impression of the first state of Christ in Emmaus (1654) (AD.12.39-44), with an offset of this plate on the verso, which suggests that this plate was being printed around the time that the Christ at Emmaus was created.
Only state, before reworking. Early impression. Printed on mould (?) side of paper.
