Description

Border sampler, linen, embroidered with polychrome stranded cottons in cross-stitch. A double border of repeat floral and geometric motifs encloses contemporary motifs such as a train, aeroplanes, ships, a bus and cars. The overall theme appears to be transport as sailing boats, hot air balloons, a horse and carriage and a cyclist are also worked.
