Bone china, slip cast, and clear glazed.
Bone china (probably) figure of a seated dog, slip cast, and clear glazed. The underside is unglazed and has a large oval ventilation hole through which the glazed underside of the top of the base is visible.The dog is seated on an oval low mound base which has been pricked to create a lava-like surface. He sits with his right front paw back and left front paw forward and his right back paw between them. His head is turned to the viewer’s right; his ears are pricked and his mouth open.

When accessioned the dog was described as after the Jennings or Duncombe Park Dog, now (2003) in the British Museum, but the hind legs are in a different position.
