"Of this edition fifteen hundred copies have been made for the members of The Limited Editions Club from the typographic plan of John Dreyfus. Alexandre Alexeieff executed the illustrations in Paris with the collaboration of Claire Parker, employing the pinboard technique, which is their invention. The text has been printed in Bloomfield, Connecticut, at The Sign of the Stone Book, and the illustrations have been reproduced by The Meriden Gravure Company in Meriden, Connecticut."--Colophon Museum has copy number "J.D." signed by Alexandre Alexeieff. Bound by Russell-Rutter Company in quarter dark-blue gold-stamped cowhide, cloth sides printed with an illustration by the artist. Issued in slipcase (red paper over card).
