Double clarinets

Scope note

Reedpipes consisting of either two pipes joined together or a single piece of wood with two bores, whose air columns are set in vibration by an idioglot single reed; in some cases both pipes have fingerholes, in others only one does, the other serving as a drone; known since ancient Egypt.
