Description

Shell cameo bust of Giovanni Angelo Braschi, Pope Pius VI (1717; 1775-1799), in profile to right, white against a pitch ground, mounted in a gold brooch. The Pope wears a skull-cap, tunic, cape withhood, and stole embroidered with crosses alternating with palmettes. Reserved border.
