Jug of Askos Form

Silver; askos-shaped jug
Silver, with matted body, plain cover flanked by cast recumbent goats, and cast handle ornamented with acanthus foliage, and terminating in acanthus foliage and flat scrolls on either side of a cast, applied cherub in relief. Two plain silver tendrils run down the body from the junction of the handle, and the body rests on a plain silver footring stamped STORR & MORTIMER 200. The interior is lightly gilt.
