Silversmith: Rey, Georges
Silver; shallow bowl with two lug handles and a domed cover
Silver; the shallow bowl with flat bottom has two cast shaped-triangular lug handles, which are decorated with a shell, flower, scrolls and basketwork. The domed cover is embossed and chased with borders of scrolling foliage and flowers on a matted ground. The flattened knop is set with a medallion of the head of a woman.

Georges Rey was master and assayer. He was recorded in 1726 was dead by 1760. He also worked in Piedmont, where he was known as Georgio Roy. The écuelle was formerly attributed to Turin.
