: According to Robin Reilly, Wedgwood, The New Illustrated Dictionary, Woodbridge, 1995, p. 504, 'PEARL' was impressed on pearl body between about 1840-68. The impressed three letters 'AMV' indicate the month April, and the year either 1867 or 1893.
