Tortoise-shell with miniature of a posy of flowers on a grey ground
Tortoise-shell set with a miniature in enamel on copper with a gold mount. The circular box has slightly concave sides with gold rim mounts, and an almost flat pull-off lid. The circular miniature depicts a posy of flowers, including roses, tulips and carnations, on a grey ground. There is an empty space inside the lid, where a miniature or lock of hair under glass was once fitted.
