Silversmith: Emmerling, Nicolaus
Silver-gilt; the waisted cup and cover embossed with strapwork panels containing fruit and foliage
Silver-gilt: the stepped spreading circular foot has an embossed and chased border of strapwork containing fruit and foliage. Thel plain column stem has three applied scrolls and, at the base and top, a calyx of cut silver leaves. The bowl is waised and embossed with three wide borders of strapwork fruit and foliage. The slightly domed cover has a flat border of gadroons round the rim; then a raised border of embossed and chased strapwork fruit and foliage round a silver calyx of scrolls. The silver finial is formed as a vase of flowers.
