Silversmith: IH
Silver; two-handled porringer and cover with wide borders of chased acanthus leaves
Silver, raised, with cast handles, and embossed and chased decoration. The circular bowl is slightly everted at the rim, and has two cast scroll handles with beaded edge and female head thumbpieces. The bowl stands on a low splayed foot with a flat foot-ring. The lower part of the bowl is embossed and chased with a broad border of acanthus and stiff leaves, and is engraved with the arms, gules two lions passant guardant in pale argent with a rose above, on an oval surrounded by foliated scrolls, and having at the top a female mask with a panache of feathers on its head. The slightly domed cover is similarly decorated and has a knop formed from four leaves.
