Description

Gilt metal; rectangular with hinged lid, engraved with a moiré pattern, a cartouche and sprigs of flowers and leaves

Gilt metal; rectangular with straight sides and hinged flat lid. The sides and lid are engraved with a moiré pattern of engine-turned decoration; on top of this is engraved on the lid an oval cartouche, with ribbon above and crossed branches of leaves below, containing a possible coat-of-arms and a hat, rake, scroll and various instruments; in each corner and on each side are engraved a sprig of leaves or flowers. On the base is engraved an oval cartouche of two parallel wavy lines.

Notes

History note: A paper label inside the box is inscribed 'THE PROPERTY OF/ THE LATE SIGNOR DRAGONETTI'
