Circular copper plaque enamelled en grisailled and gilded.
Circular and slightly convex copper plaque, enamelled en grisaille on a black ground, and gilded. The enamel round the edge appears dark brown. Small blobs of white are used to highlight the features. The reverse is faintly scored and has translucent counter-enamel with several dark-brown bubbles, pin-holes, and blackened areas round the edges.
On the left, Adam sits on a rock, holding out his left hand to receive an apple from Eve’s right hand. Eve stands with her right leg relaxed and her left arm raised to pluck another fruit from the Tree of Knowledge which is entwined by the Serpent. She looks over her left shoulder towards a goat on the right. In the background there are slender tree trunks with a few leaves. The edge is encircled by a gold band. When acquired the roundel had a tortoiseshell case
