Stained bone or horn, silver and steel; the knife has a near parallel steel blade which turns down towards the point; the pistol grip oval section handle is of bone stained brown or horn. Each side of the handle is set with a row of four silver bosses, engraved with the coat-of-arms of the Elector of Saxony impaling another, surrounded by small silver piqué work circles. The volute terminal is capped with silver, which is engraved with a flower. The silver ferrule shows remnants of gilding. The fork has two exceptionally long steel tines and a silver ferrule engraved with two pairs of wings, but the handle is decorated similarly to that of the knife.
