Description

Chinese-style book written in Chinese ink, gouache and gold on Chinese xuan papers, raw silk covers. Artist's statement: When I was living in Hong Kong in 2001 I was inspired by the range of Chinese papers, brushes and silk available. And I was enjoying reading Chinese poetry in translation. In this book I attempt to evoke evening through the colours of the paper, the dying sun through the brushstrokes of the gold, and the homecoming bird through the fluent brush lettering executed with a small Chinese brush
