Description

PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION: Parchment, 193 x 165 mm, part of 2 lines of text ruled in faint brown ink and 2 four-line music staves ruled in red on reverse.

CONTENTS: The fragmentary text on the reverse (nomen e[st]…consilii ange[lorum]) and the initial P suggest that the image introduced the Introit for the Christmas Mass, Puer natus est nobis.

DECORATION: Historiated initial [P, 2 ll.] formed of green branches on gold ground: Adoration of the Child.
