Initial from an illuminated Choir book
PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION: Parchment, 185 x 192 mm, two musical staves ruled in brown and green ink, two lines of fragmentary text, ruled in pale brown ink.
CONTENTS: On reverse, fragmentary text [H]oc mare e and Letetur cor
DECORATION: Historiated initial in beige with white highlighting and acanthus extensions on a ground of solid gold: [M] King David with psaltery against a tessellated blue background.
ORNAMENTATION: On reverse, two ornamental initials [height of one stave] in black with floral motifs drawn in ink and coloured with pale green and pink wash, partially cropped.
