Description

Hybrid hard-paste porcelain, glazed and gilded, Pattern 198

Hybrid-hard-paste porcelain, moulded, glazed and decorated with painted gilding. Of obconical form with ribbed sides and a tapering strap handle rising above the rim. There are gold bands round the foot, the shoulder, below the rim, on the rim, and down the sides of the handle, which also has a vertical line running down its back. Below the shoulder there is a border comprising a continuous stem of stylized foliage, a horizontal band, and alternating pairs and single motifs formed by three dots with a narrow trefoil or fleur-de-lys above. Below the lip there is symmetrical stylized foliage motif springing from the band on the shoulder, and on each side, a small sprig. Pattern 198.
