Tortoise-shell with miniature of an urn of flowers and a nest on a slab in a Classical landscape
Tortoise-shell set with a miniature in bodycolour and watercolour on card, mounted under glass in gold. The circular box has straight sides and a flat pull-off lid. The box is lined in gold and has gold mounts round the rims. The circular miniature depicts a carved stone urn of flowers, including roses, tulips, delphiniums, auriculas, and poppies, next to a bird's nest of three eggs, on a marble slab, in front of a Classical landscape with temple to the right.
