Description

Hybrid hard-paste porcelain, painted underglaze in blue and overglaze in gold with zig-zag ribbon and gold stars. Pattern no. 154

Hybrid hard-paste porcelain, moulded, painted underglaze in blue, and overglaze in gold. The circular tea bowl is moulded with deep, curved and reeded sides (28) and slightly scalloped rim, standing on a footring. The saucer has a gently scalloped edge, curved sides, slightly fluted on the interior, and stands on a footring. The inside of the bowl is decorated with a central gold floral spray, and round the top with a border of pairs of blue slanting ribbons forming a zigzag with gold stars in the spaces, and a horizontal gold band above and below. Another gold band encircles the rim. On the exterior below the rim, there is a gold continuous stem of narrow leaves with gold spots above and below, and another gold band round the footring. The saucer is decorated to match, and in addition has a circular wreath, like that on the exterior of the bowl, around the central floral spray. Pattern no. 154.
