Description

Hybrid hard-paste porcelain painted overglaze in pale puce and gold with floral sprigs and border.

Hybrid hard-paste porcelain, glazed, painted overglaze in pale puce enamel, and gilded. The cup is of Bute shape with a circular ring handle. The saucer is circular with curved sides standing on a footing. The cup is decorated inside at the bottom with a stylized gold spray with puce dots. On the outside it has gold band on the rim, and a border below the rim comprising a slightly wavy continuous gold stem with gold leaves, and single pale puce berries with a gold line below. Lower down on the sides there are five different floral sprigs. Down the back of the handle there is a stem of gold stylized leaves. The saucer has a five different floral sprigs in the middle and the same border round the edge.
