Description

Hybrid hard-paste porcelain painted in black, puce, and purple enamels, and gilt with fern fronds, leaves, and berries. Pattern, no. 443.

Hybrid hard-paste porcelain painted in black, puce, and purple enamels and gilded. Cylindrical with a loop handle, and recessed base. Inside the rim there is a border comprising three fern fronds, a five part leaf and a purple dotted blossom repeated three times. On the exterior the upper part has five fern fronds, a five-part leaf and puce berries repeated three times, and below them, six five-part leaves on gold stems with wandering tendrils. There is a gold band round the lower edge and on the rim, and a vertical stroke down the back of thenhandle terminating in an arrowhead. Pattern no. 443.
